Ferrero Rocher Cheesecake

I’m always up to try anything flavoured ‘Ferrero Rocher’. My eyes light up when I see Ferrero Rocher ice cream in little boutique ice-cream shops. So when my birthday came around what better cake to make then one inspired by these little golden balls of pure delight.

My cake ‘media’ of choice was the humble Cheesecake, I wanted to be sure the true intense flavour of the Rocher could really be captured and not lost in a cake like a light and airy sponge. I wanted a rich intense flavour with every element of the cake more decadent and packed full

Lamb Shanks in Succulent Plum Sauce

Lamb Shanks in Succulent Plum Sauce

This dish was made due to a request by my Dad. Over the years he has quietly reminisced a food memory from long ago, he was a young man when he was first introduced to lamb shanks in a plum sauce and has been thinking and talking about them ever since.

My Dad isn’t much of a cook so he never had the urge to try and replicate this fond dish himsielf but as I am a mad food enthusiast, I was all too keen to take up the challenge. I must say the plum sauce was a nice change from the usual tomato

Cherry Coconut Bon Bons

Cherry Coconut Bon Bons

Every single day Christmas gets closer and closer and I get more and more excited! Throughout the year I put aside ideas and recipes to consider as part of my ‘Day of Christmas Cooking Madness’. I set aside one day early to mid December and go nuts in the kitchen making 5…. 6…. 7…. finger sized treats to see me, family and friends through the Christmas season. Ginger Kisses

Ginger Kisses These are lovely delicate ginger sandwich cookies complete with double ginger filling. You could fill them with any flavor icing but I wanted an intense ginger taste. These sweet little cookies are addictive and you’ll find the batch will quickly disappear. My batch lasted a few hours….

Chicken & Potato Whole Wheat Pizza

Chicken & Potato Whole Wheat Pizza It is a pretty tasty pizza and includes one of my all time favorite pizza toppings – potato. I went for a whole wheat pizza base this time and I can honestly tell you, I’m not going back to tasteless white flour bases. The whole wheat adds additional flavour and a wonderful texture which works so well for a pizza base.

Chocolate Banana Cupcakes

Chocolate Banana CupcakesDecorating cakes, cupcakes and cookies for kids, in my opinion has to be the best kind of decorating. You can have so much fun and the themes are limitless: pirates, fairies, bugs, bright colours and cuddly teddy bears, just to name a few. I have 2 1/2 baby nieces now so my cupcake decorating days have only just begun and I’m excited! Of course, you can frost these cupcakes with any kind of frosting, but I went for the classic banana chocolate combo and finished off with a brown and pink teddy bear theme.
