So, every morning I wake up and rush outside to see the progress of the vege garden. The new growth of cucumbers, beans, peas etc seems to creep up on you – one day just a little flower, the next a pretty baby vegetable. It is the most exciting when you spot the first growth of a new vege. I have had little tomatoes & beans growing for a while and yesterday was the first time I noticed chilies and capsicums. I can’t wait to eat them!

By Susan, on May 8th, 2010 My husband grew up with this recipe, a real family favorite. It is probably the tastiest rissole type thing I have had and it is so simple it just doesn’t seem right. My mother-in-law went hunting for this recipe years ago after trying something similar in a restaurant. Serve this dish with rice (in my case brown rice), Kim Chi (pickled cabbage) and pickled ginger.

I have been married to my husband for nearly 8 years now and can you believe I only just recently found out he really likes Quiche?? We went to an awesome pie shop in Brooklyn called ‘The Blue Stove’ they served the best sweet pies and quiche I have ever had. The quiche had the lightest, fluffiest texture – it was just divine.
I wanted to try and replicate the airiness of the quiche I had in Brooklyn but I also wanted to make a really chunky man’s quiche…. none of this delicate petite quiche you see around the place.
