An oldie but a goodie! I love slices, bars and cookies made form candy bars and with Christmas around the corner these are the perfect addition to your edible Christmas gifts. I’m looking forward to having a crack at some Malteaser cupcakes in the future and I have an absolutely awesome recipes for Snickers Cookies that I must, must share with you all. You’ll hate me they are soooooo good! You can’t stop until they are all gone but unfortunately, like most cookies they are rather bad for the waist line :S

By Susan, on October 21st, 2010 Confectionery / Candy Bar / Chocolate Bar… whatever you choose to say, I love them all!! One of the first things I do when visiting a new country is pop down to a corner store and check out the chocolate bar selection. I must say, we have a pretty good selection here is Australia but I am always fascinated by the range in the USA and how you can find different bars on the east coast to the west coast. (Although I do think there is an excessive amount of peanut butter and chocolate combinations.)

By Susan, on May 7th, 2010 If you are looking for Boozy Brownies look no further, alcohol soaked prunes are added to these brownies and need to be soaked for 3 days before cooking These would be great at Christmas time! Forget the Christmas pudding – drunken, chocolaty brownies are here! Beware, these are VERY rich so 1 batch of brownies goes a long way

By Susan, on May 1st, 2010 This slice was my Mum’s request. It is a very common slice in Australia with almost every bakery offering it for sale. It was the first slice I fell in love with and wanted to bake. This version has a couple of variations from the traditional ‘Raspberry Coconut Slice’ you find around the place; firstly, I have used freshly grated coconut instead of the desiccated kind making it deliciously moist; and secondly, I have incorporated real raspberries, the tang of the fresh fruit is the perfect partner to the sweet raspberry jam and makes it very difficult to stop at just one piece!

What an incompetent day I had on Sunday!! First I had a go at making ‘Choc Malt Cupcakes’ which I had been looking forward to baking all week (it is in my number 1 slot of my ‘Need to Cook ASAP’ list) but I failed miserably! I think it was my worst attempt at baking ever I had decided to ‘invent’ my malt cupcake recipe and it was a total flop! I ended up with hard ‘cup’ shape malt things… they were closer to cookies then cupcakes LOL! My husband who eats EVERYTHING didn’t believe me when I said I had to
