My husband grew up eating pancakes on a Sunday morning and ‘pancake races’ were a popular game amongst his siblings with the winner entitled to ‘pancake seconds’ as the prize. I blame this game for his bad eating habbits now, his plate is always the first clean round the dinner table and he often goes back for seconds or thirds!
Pancakes are great anytime of day if you ask me. I love how versatile they are, perfect with any kind of fruit or sweet sauce and have even been known to accompany bacon in the USA. I have heard pancakes served

By Susan, on May 6th, 2010 Mmm…. these were so good! My favorite of the two were the Raspberry and Custard, the tart raspberries went so well with the sweetness of the custard and the dough. I would like to try fresh Blueberries in replace of the blueberry jam next time as well as have a go at a apple and custard scroll.

Gooey, oozy Cinnamon Scrolls. I was introduced to these sweet spirals of cinnamon goodness while on holiday to New York. They love all things Cinnamon over there and who can blame them? This fragrant spice marries so well with one of their other culinary obsessions…. Cream Cheese. They are known are ‘Cinnabons’ in the USA and are available from franchises all over the place.
Unfortunately, they are a little harder to find in Australia so baking them was the only way to enjoy these scrolls down under. I have re-created many dishes first experienced on in New York since coming home

I first experienced real pretzels on a trip to Las Vegas four years ago and had the pleasure of enjoying them again recently while visiting New York. These are huge in New York where every street corner they tempt you with their salt or sesame covered goodness and welcoming warmth on a cold winter night. At specialty Pretzel shops you are bombarded with a selection of various Pretzel flavors like ’7 types of Chilli, Cinnamon Raisin and Chocolate’ along with a huge range of dips to accompany them.
